IMS and Mobile Multimedia

Standardization organizations such as ETSI, ITU are currently defining their vision of Next Generation Networks (NGNs), integrating heterogeneous wireless and wireline networks, with sub-systems dedicated to multimedia (IMS), security and Circuit emulation (PES). On the other hand, applications and services that go beyond basic features remain hard to develop and deploy.

The aim of this workshop is to serve as a platform for researchers from academia, research labs, manufacturers and operators to share their ideas, views, results and experiences in the field of IMS-based telecommunication with a special focus on security and services issues. The workshop will include presentations of theoretical and experimental achievements, innovative security systems, prototyping efforts, case studies, and advancements in technology.

1. Converged Applications and Services

  • IMS applications services
  • Service mobility, continuity and maintenance
  • Instant messaging, Presence and event notification
  • Service creation environments
  • Service engines (e.g. Parlay, SIP Servlets, IMS)

2. VoIP, NGN and IMS Security

  • Intrusion and anomaly detection, prevention and protection for VoIP, NGN and IMS systems
  • DoS, SPIT, SPAM, Vishing
  • End-to-end security schemes
  • Inter-provider trust and verification schemes

3. Management, Resilience and QoS

  • P2P overlays for future telecommunication systems
  • Traffic monitoring, testing and performance measurement of VoIP, NGN and IMS traffic
  • QoS for mobile voice and video
  • High availability, reliability and jitter solutions for VoIP, NGN and IMS systems
